Ariella Lopez
I majored in Advertising Design Graduating with a BFA from Savannah College of Art & Design. I became addicted to the adrenaline rush that came with solving problems to make products more enticing. After finding my niche in the digital space of advertising I pursued my interest further by taking a UX/UI design course at NY Code & Design Academy, where I further refined my skills as a Product Designer.
I balance my day job with personal creative work and activities outside the screen, like feeding my entrepreneurial spirit with a side project I am working on with a small team to create a fitness application called Dumbbell. You can check that out in my work section. I am also a believer in meditation and yoga as it helps reset my mind and start a clean slate to do some intense problem solving. Music, nature, travel and surrounding my self with a diverse set of people is my inspiration behind my work.
My creative approach towards a product is to find points of tension behind the idea I’ve been assigned or am interested in. I do several iterations on each feature and after some usability testing and some savvy Prototyping skills, I usually end up refining the one I find more effective.
For me, creating a product isn't just about a pretty design , but rather, a way to create a seamless and intuitive interaction for a user. It’s a way to plant a little bit of desire in their hearts; a yearning to click/tap through and learn more about your idea. Ultimately, it’s about creating memorable experience.
